Directors Corner
2008 started off with a bang and we never looked back. We knew that AFA would be great for slowpitch softball because of the owners attitude that the players come first. Softball is a game not an
occupation. As the owner says you can hold a game without and umpire but we can't hold any games without the players. He understands the need to get the game back to where it was when it was great. When teams, umpires and directors all had fun without the tension and the arguing. That is what we have strived for in 2008 and I believe we have obtained that goal. We had the AFA Fall Nationals in Las Vegas Coed in October and the Men's and Women's in November. We had 80 of the best teams in the country here in Las Vegas and when I say best not only was their ability to play the game great but their sportsmanship was beyond approach. No arguing, no profanity and very little if any disagreeing wiht the umpires. When you have tournaments like that you know you are on the right track. AFA Slow Pitch is here to stay and we committ to the players that this game will be aligned around their needs. Our liberal homerun rules and base stealing makes us and exciting game not only to play but for the spectators. I look forward to meeting many of you at the 2009 Fall Nationals and hope you have a great ball playing year. Check us out! You'll be glad you did.

2008 AFA Fall Nationals
There is no better place for adults to play then Las Vegas, NV and no better place to play softball. The weather in October and November is great for ball playing, cool in the morning and beautiful during the day. Teams loved the 4 balls 3 strike no time limit games. Base stealing and more home runs just added to the game. "The teams have been classified the best I've seen all year" said one coach from California. Teams traveled from as far southeast as Georgia and as far north as Vancouver, Wa. and Michigan, from Rhode Island and Ohio to California and Arizona. AFA will be known all over the US with directors being added weekly. For the standings from the tournaments see below.
